The only thing I don't like about the new Ridgid policy is allowing home centers to rent their snakes.

Hopefully, like other Companies, this tool renting to untrained folks will create more work for us with busted cables in main sewer lines.

I received a call last week about a guy in trouble. Seems this COLLEGE professor decided to snake out his bath tub using a General closet Auger (you can't make this up) $275 later I was able to get the auger out and ram jet the line clean.

Amazing what higher education can do for folks.

I think the internet should also act as a forum on good and LOUSY tools and materials. This way we all don't make the same mistake as a fellow plumber/drainer/gas fitter.

Here is another one for the books.

Today Con Ed was right next door to a job I was working on when this guy comes out of this home with a gas meter under his arm and this dude screaming "no no no". The screaming nut asks me if I am licensed. (I am standing right in front of my van which says LICENSED MASTER PLUMBER.) I turn away from him, look at my van, and say "YUP DAT BE ME all right".

He says "help me, they took my meter". The Con Edison guy says, "My Man let me tell you, you GOT TO take a look in this dudes home".

I said "what did you red tag?" He said "EVERYTHING".

Seems this clown of a home owner decided to save piping and used the flue from his gas fired H/W heater with the flue from his gas fired drier up the same chimney.

The Con Ed guy was just there to do a routine meter check EVERY 20 YEARS and found this condition.

Chimney completely blocked from 17 years of lint.

Now I said to the owner out in the street standing in the pouring rain " Man you're lucky to be alive"

This sumofabitch said "WHY, with these head aches I've had, I feel like I'm dying." DUH.

I said "DAT BE CALLED SPILL BACK".
You cannot make this stuff up impossible.
