Well, now that my drain cleaning season is in full swing, thanks to the rains, leaves and mud I finally got to use my Rigid 2,200 gas fired water jetter.

This is my 3rd year with it and I must say it just keeps getting better and better. VERY easy to start up even after prolonged storage this past winter.

My heavy duty electric start one, from another Company, again killed the battery completely. 3rd battery in 2 years.

I took Franklin's advice and removed the Key AND the positive battery connection and STILL a dead battery.

Once it works though the 3,000 PSI 10 GPM really does one heck of a scouring action.

JR Smith finally must have taken my complaints to heart as they finally made the domes fit the combination gravel stop.

I am happy to say this product is ALMOST as good as it was before they started making parts in 4th world countries.

Of course, the finish could be better, as the overseas parts seem to be missing paint in places, the bolts are kind of short for built up roofing and the domes look like someone took them home to grind off the casting imperfections, as they were not painted after these DEFECTS were grinded off.

For imported parts it is not any worse than others.

I just completed installing over 50 of these drains and a lot of them came from old stock I had and the older was much better.

I wish JR Smith would raise their prices and make EVERYTHING in this country.

I like the quality of the Josam drains BUT they always seem to be short changing me on parts (bolts and/or nuts) and getting them in a timely manner is very hard.

I was contacted by another company called Zurn to try their roof drains.

Now this was funny, in the sample I was sent the dome did not fit the drain body properly. The base casting was very poor and the gravel stop was cracked.

I called the representative who sent it to me and he said "He would check the next sample"

I told him keep the drains as I can imagine what the "quality" would be if it wasn't a sample of their product line.

I bought a Ridgid snake and was very unhappy with the lack of quality of the wire. Ridgid made good with a great new snake wire that they are now manufacturing.

I am thrilled with their 3/8 snake (Ridgid). It seems stronger then the CRAP (IMHO) LOUSY Marco 5/8 wire.

With EL CHEAPO plastic drum that lasted almost 1/2 hour, BUT considering it was on the van for 22 minutes of this half hour this machine is the ONLY tool in all my life that didn't pay for itself.
