I did go to the King of the legitimate plumbing trades seminar once to find out Where I was going wrong, as I am making a great living in spite of the cute little jingles the sewer guy commercial sings about. I even saw a thing about contractors 3000 and said WOW in 999 years they will be obsolete.

So I don't think a dated name is advantageous for me and depending on what part of the world I'm on, the dead man's name is really important.

I have always dealt with my suppliers the same way by signing personally and for the business notes as required.

My CPA and Lawyer said why should you sign personally if you have a corporation to hide behind and my answer was the same. I am honorable and my name means everything to me.

Why would I take another person's identity especially some one who never worked in my profession and certainly did not hold a masters license and DEAD to boot?

To the legitimate plumbers and drainers and gas fitters not only should you be very proud of your profession BUT equally proud of your given name.

I always felt you cannot have a real professional friendly relationship with a big uncaring Corporation as you can with your neighbor who is a licensed professional.

I know most of my accounts by first name and their children. Why would I want the folks walking to church yell Hi ICBM or God knows what evername these future corporations come up with?

I still like the family doctor not the clinics or HMO who selects my care taker.

Same with plumbing. We, more then most trades, should have that personal warm feeling as WE enter a persons home and place of business.

Today with the stock market going up and down, down, down more unemployed are looking to get into "construction" as this was once considered a non skilled area and being a TECH means they can SCAM their way into your unsuspecting clients homes.

The only way to ensure your personal safety and the health of your family is to hire your licensed professional. Someone who has to do a better job as their REAL name s behind their work.

Look around folks and see the new big Corporations trying to take over your family doctor's practice. Look who is doing your plumbing. DEMAND to see the licensed person is actually doing the work. If SCAM is the Company YOU want to meet Mr. Flim flam SCAM and see his picture on the licence.

The licence is for YOUR protection not the licensed holder
