: : WHY DO PLUMBERS THINK THAT THEY SHOULDNT SHORE UP TRENCHES OVER 1.5M IN DEPTH. I GIVE ADVISE TO SEVERAL OF MY ASSOCIATES ON THE CORRECT WAY TO TIMBER AND OR SHEILD TRENCHES BECAUSE THEY DONT KNOW HOW TO DO THIS.
: : THERE IS A MAJOR FAULT IN OUR TRAINING SYSTEM IN REGAURDS TO THIS AREA

: Warren,
: every plumbing student that goes through the TAFE New South Wales system receives training in Timbering and has to satisfactorily go down three times , in loose running sand, with safety. They are expected to go down using a tried and proven method which will save lives if there is any problems.
: I was in Melbourne recently and saw at the Holmesglen College of TAFE training as I have mentioned above. It is still alive and well and perhaps if you are interested you might contact a TAFE College in your home state.

It is law. you have to shore trenches that deep. If a dept of work place health and safety officer catches you without shoring (and you are still alive) they will have your balls...... IF YOU SEND AN EMPLOYIE DOWN AN UNSHORED TRENCH THE UNION WILL HAVE WHATS LEFT OF YOUR GENITALIA

DISCLAIMER

All advice is given with-out seeing the job, and hence all advice MUST be taken as advice with limited knowledge on the exact situation. NO responsibility can or will be taken. And yes, I am a licensed plumber with my own business in Brisbane Australia
