My sewer drain is about 4 feet above the basement floor in the house I just purchased. The water softner drain is discharged into the sump pump which discharges to the ground outside. Is there anyway besides an ejecter pit to have the softner discharge into the main sewer line. If it can discharge up about four feet and them free flow to the main line how can I be sure the sewage will not back up back into the softner if the main line backs up.
