discharge water

Posted by Roger on December 30, 1999 at 08:50:26:

We have a washing machine in the upstairs closet which we would like to move back down into the
basement. The cold and hot water lines are all ready in place. The real thing in question is the discharge
of the used wash water from the washing machine. The sewer pipe which would be use as a connection for the
discharged water from the washing machine is about 5 feet above the floor. A height which appears to be
excessive for a washing machine pump to pump. Do you sell equipment for one of the following set-up
options for example,(1). A one way valve for the washing machine pipe to the sewer line(this option would
only work if I am mistaken about the washing machine not being able to pump the water up 5 feet. (2). A
pump for the bottom of a wash vat which would pump the discharged water flowing from the washing machine
into the wash vat on up to the sewer pipe.
And how do we know which of these setups options to use.
