Posted by Caroline on December 23, 1999 at 09:40:57: Our Vaillant combi heater makes bangs like a sort of furious kettling noise when the heating comes on. This used to happen once in a while, but now every time you have a shower or turn the hot tap on. The heating repair man said it was because there was no pressure in the boiler and refilled it. He showed me how to do this myself. After a few days it needed doing again and now it is nearly every day (and it doesn't seem to even reach 1 bar when refilling). He's been out a couple of times but can't fix it. What can we do, and is it dangerous?!! We've been quoted something extortionate to have the whole thing replaced, but won't the whole thing happen again if there is a leak somewhere? Please help. Thanks Caroline
