Posted by Jennie Korb on October 27, 1999 at 12:01:26: We have recently purchased an older home and my son leaned against the ceramic soap dish and it fell off along with the adjacent tile. We are assuming you are right about the sheetrock behind. As you can see, there have been repairs over the years. What is the best type of replacement that is both costs effective, requires minimal cleaning and would be easy for us to do? We have done a lot of home repairs but don't know all the options. I don't think a fiberglass frame is an option as there is a window cutout and would be hard to bring in. Everything in here is narrow. We would not totally object to retiling but what is the process? - especially for preparing the wall.
