: I have Carrier Gas furnice. Recently, I found that the pilot was gone. I tried to lit the pilot by following the instruction on the front panel of the furnace. I shut off the gas valve and electricity. And turned teh manual valve nob to "ON" position. But no luck. It worked just fine a month ago. It says my furnace has automatic pilot liting system so do not try to lit by hand. Do you have any recommendations or suggestion?
I hate to reply over the net without seeing firsthand what the problem is but according to what you said (typed) you first turned off the gas valve and then tried to light the unit- it cant light if there is no gas present to be lit
