: With a 1.6 gpf toilet, I would like to use an
: off-set 3" closet flange to avoid notching
: a floor joist (tight spacing with no option
: on toilet location). Visually judging, it
: would appear that a 2" dia. ball would clear
: the off-set. With a 1.6 gpf toilet, could
: there conceivable be a flushing problem?
: Toilet uses "elongated siphon action jetted
: bowl".

study this situtation real careful, if at all possible use a regular flange. the very design of most off set flanges make it hard to get a good seal. don`t use a horn seal as this will futher block passage.
consider adding reinforcement to other side of joist.
