If you have the tools to test it, check it out, otherwise just replace it and the problem should be solved. : I have a Reliance 501 electric water heater in my home. The Model number is; 5 52 2SRS4. Serial number is; H87485273. I don't know how old it is, but I suspect it was manufactured in 1987, based on the Serial Number.
