I have a shallow well that is 18 ft. deep and has 10 1/2 feet of water in it. I am using a new 1/2 hp. pump and new precharged pressure tank. My problem is my pump will pump up to 50psi and shut off as it should, but if I draw it down to 30 psi it will kick on and run but will not pump up. The pressure will drop to zero as more water is drawn and the pump will continue to run never building pressure. After turning off the pump for a short period of time it will then build pressure back to 50 psi. If I do not shut the pump off it will continue to run and not build pressure. What could be wrong?
