Posted by Bill Erdman on September 27, 1999 at 09:15:25: I've got a RUUD gas hot water heater, maybe 9 years old. My problem is low hot water pressure at all faucets. Strong pressure for a few seconds, then a fat-pencil sized flow. Same thing happens from the tank drain, so I'm assuming it's a problem with the inlet. There's a big brass something device at the inlet to the actual tank (actually probably connected to the dielectric connection). Might this be the culprit? If so, does one fix (if so, how?) or replace? Other sources to check? Thanks for your help.
