: We have a Moen bath/shower set with a bathtub stopper that is spring loaded - press it down, it stays down; press it again, it comes up. Always attached, though. Well, it broke off. Now I want to replace it. Is it just screwed into the tub drain hole, or is it cemented to something down below that I'll snap if I unscrew it? And what tool do I use to back it out? When I get a new one, how can I torque it down, since the new stopper will be installed? Thanks in advance for any help or advice -

generally these are screwed in. catch whats left with pliers and screw out of cross bars.
notice the top of piece that broke off. the crome top screws off and exposes a screw driver slot that is used for installing or removing to clear stoppages
