Posted by Steve K. on August 31, 1999 at 22:27:52: The 2inch iron drain for my washing machine overflows when the machine is discharging the water from the tub. I have snaked the air vent and taken apart the trap. Found none of my missing socks. The house was built in 1972. Should the drain size be increased to 3 inch to accommodate the newer machines? What else could be causing the problem? Thanks
