interior french drains

I need a french drain. I was told the easiest for my sisuation would be an interior one. The cost for a professional is 1500-2000, I an attempting this my selt. I know I need to cut concrete on the floor of the 2 walls that only need it. then drill holes in foundation and run them in holes in pipe, and lead pipe to outside. This is all I know, but I need more facts, complete detail on how to do this, for ex.-- how wide do I cut, how does pipe lay in, how far are hole, do I put gravel on botton----is a sump pump better and how does it work----could someone please help me with a complete detail on how to do this and a list of tolls, your help would be greatly appriciated.
