My question is ? we have had very cold weather for about a month now and Iam still noticing that my sump pump is running at least every 15 to 20 minutes.The ground around the house has been frozen for quit some time now.Why does it run so often?

I need to now how dams give out there water..... and why would a dam with smaller holes will have a longer stream of water than a dam with larger holes?
