Method of installation

STEP 1
  • Place collar on top of polystyrene
  • Block out where penetration is to be located and fixed to form work with nails or screws
  • Ensuring the PVC riser is higher than the finished level of slab
STEP 2
  • The collar can be cast insitu into the slab leaving access for the pipe to be installed later
STEP 3
  • After removing the polystyrene block a cavity is created in the concrete slab for connection at a later stage

. SPECIFICATION AND INSTALLATION:

1. ACCESS FIRE COLLARS are to suit uPVC piping in all service work in medium to high rise buildings.

2. This product has been tested and approved by C.S.I.R.O. to achieve a 2 hour fire rating corresponding to A.S. 1530-4 1990 for slab and wall penetrations.

3. Any slab, wall or beam thickness can be accommodated by using extension risers.

4. This system allows the pipe to be installed at a later stage. Thus preventing the pipe being damaged during construction stages and eliminates unnecessary joints and allows the pipe to move through the slab to minimise stress to pipe and joints.

5. After polystyrene has been removed the connection can be made inside the recess so provided, but not inside the collar. Thus allowing the service line to fit closer to the underside of the slab.

NOTE:

At no stage is the connection to be inside the collar or is any intumescent material to be removed to enable such a connection to be made.
